Menu Bar

When you make a menu bar, all of the buttons have to be the same size when you make them on photoshop so that they go all in the same row.

Modifying Cat's Button Code

This is how to but a lovely button on your website :) i fixed cats code so here are the directions:

To put a button on your website, you need 3 images. First, you need to make a button using a photoshop tutorial. Save this button as Button.png. Next, use Hue/Saturation on photoshop to make the color a little different or brighter. Name this button Button 2.png. For the third image you'll need to use Bevel/Emboss to make the differently colored button look depressed. I used a downward pillow emboss but you can use whatever you think looks best. Finally, copy and paste this into your html source page:

<a href="whatever-website-you-want><img src="Button.png" onmouseover="this.src='Button2.png'"
onmouseout="this.src='Button.png'" alt="Click Me" border="none" onmousedown="this.src='Button3.png'"/></a>

Disney World

I went to Disney World. I was there for 5 days and it was so much fun. We went to all of the parks, swam in the pool and got to perform on a Disney stage. On Friday, we arrived at MHS at 4:45 AM. We went to the airport that early because the band's flight left at 7:30. Chorus and orchestra had a 10:00 flight so we rehearsed in the airport. When we got to Disney we had to wait for 4 hours to get our luggage, then we finally went to the pool. there was a water slide :D On Saturday we went to Epcot. each of the groups had workshops in the backstage area of Disney. it was a really cool experience. On Sunday we went to animal kingdom. we had breakfast there then they opened the park to just MHS for an hour before it was open to the public, so all of us got to go on Expedition Everest before anyone else. This was good, except for the ride broke and everyone had to walk down stairs that were inside the "mountain". I don't like roller coasters so i just bought a stuffed animal Yettie that is a little ball and he's so cute :D after spending the whole morning at Animal Kingdom, we went to downtown Disney. This is where our performance was going to be. We got there and watched the band do their performance, then we went backstage to get ready for ours. We performed and it was such an amazing experience, we pulled together a performance that wasn't looking so good 5 days earlier. We all gathered our stuff and went back to the hotel for the night. Monday was our last day. We went to Hollywood Studios for breakfast then spent most of the day there. Once again, the park was opened early for us, so everyone got a chance to ride Rockin' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror before the park was even opened. At about 4:00 we left the Studios for Magic Kingdom. We spent the night in the Kingdom and our curfew was extended so  that we could watch the fireworks over the castle. It was magical. Yesterday, we sadly came home to Mahopac. My favorite part of this trip was meeting Belle :) she is my favorite princess and i will always love beauty and the beast. The End. :D

The Creation of the Internet

Many people believe that the internet was created in the Pentagon through a program called Arpanet, that was designed to survive a nuclear attack. This belief would be incorrect. Bob Taylor, the man at the head of the Arpanet project confirms this in saying, " The creation of the ARPAnet was not motivated by considerations of war. The ARPAnet was not an internet. An internet is a connection between two or more computer networks." It can be agreed that there are many people responsible for the creation of the internet and we now know that the company IBM is somewhat responsible for creating the internet, and putting it in homes. Next comes email. Email, like the internet wasn't necessarily created, but evolved from simple beginnings. Before the internet, email could only be used to send messages to people on the same computer. Once the internet was created, you were able to send messages to other computers. Email is now something that is going out of date because of facebook as well as texting.

Worst Website I've Ever Seen

There are no words to describe how horrible this website it. First of all, it is called Tally-Ho. That is just, wow. This website is made to sell airline uniforms. The background is clouds. The words flash and are all primary colors. Pretty much everything on this website moves, and it really hurts your eyes. This website is absolutely HORRIFIC! http://www.tallyhouniforms.com/

Money and Web Design

Web designers can make a lot of money, even when they are coming right out of college. With a degree, you can make up to $60,000 a year. The highest paying states for a tech job are California, Washington, and Massachusetts. After 5-7 years, you can make $150,000 or more a year as a web designer. As for the cost of making a website, you can really spend as little as $11, for a simple site, or you can spend as much as your budget will allow. The more money you spend, the more complex your website will be, and the design will be much better.

Facebook

I believe that Facebook is one of the most purposeful websites right now. Almost everyone utilizes the social networking site because it is a way to connect with friends. Facebook can be as simple or as complicated as you'd like it to be. I feel that if we didn't have Facebook, at least for the younger generation, our lives would be very different. Facebook is by far the most popular social networking site out there today, for very obvious reasons. www.facebook.com

First Day of Class

After yesterday, I think the web design class realized that its going to be weird sharing the class with computer graphics. Most of us were having trouble figuring out how to do this blog, but most of us understand it now. Its a little bit confusing how this all works, but im sure were gona learn how to do it pretty easily. Im interested to see what type of things we learn in the class, and to see how this whole blogging process works out.
