I have been a huge Dave Matthews fan since I was a little girl. My parents influenced my music taste and they grew up loving him, so I grew up to Crash and Under The Table and Dreaming blasting through the house. The Dave Matthew's Band dropped their eighth studio album two weeks ago.
On September 11th, 2012 the album Away From the World hit stores and has already hit the top of the charts and has been rated 4 out of 5 stars. The album is the bands first since Big Whiskey & The GrooGrux King in 2009. Steve Lilywhite was the producer on the album, his first album back with the band since 1998.
Away From The World has 11 tracks on it that all have a calm "loving" vibe according to Dave. The band released the first single from the album, "Mercy", in July. On tour this summer, Dave and the band played about 8 songs from the album on tour this summer including "If Only" and "The Riff".
The album has a great feel to it and is amazing to listen to. The production on the songs is impeccable. DMB has nailed it once again with Away From The World. I recommend that you give it a listen.

CO 102 Blog #1 - Reckless Serenade
Two of my best friends have started out in a new band called Reckless Serenade. They are a local band from my small town of Mahopac, NY. This summer they came together and started writing music. They are a alternative style band that resembles the styles of A Day to Remember and Blink - 182.
Reckless Serenade is made up of five boys from Mahopac, Cory Brent (lead vocals), Mark Neidhardt (rhythm guitar & back up vocals), Dave Kellogg (lead guitar), Steve Zeiss (bass guitar) and Mike Neidhardt (drums). The boys work together to write all of their songs, making sure that each of them feels comfortable with the music and feel it fits their sound.
This summer, Reckless Serenade recorded their first EP. They laid down 6 tracks at Nada Studios in New Jersey over the course of two months and have been using these CDs to get themselves out to the public and well known. Their music is great and has a unique sound to it.
